Breading

Wet Mixture

  • 1/4 cup milk

Instructions

Prepare the Chicken

  1. Season the Chicken: Pat the chicken pieces dry with paper towels. Season all sides with salt and black pepper.
  2. Preheat the Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 5 minutes.

Prepare the Coating

  1. Mix the Dry Ingredients: In a shallow bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, smoked paprika, and cayenne pepper.
  2. Prepare the Wet Mixture: In another bowl, whisk together eggs and milk until well blended.

Bread the Chicken

  1. Dip in Wet Mixture: Coat each chicken piece in the egg and milk mixture, letting the excess drip off.
  2. Coat in Dry Mixture: Dredge the chicken in the seasoned flour mixture, pressing lightly to adhere. Shake off excess flour.

Cook in the Air Fryer

  2. Arrange the Chicken: Place the chicken pieces in a single layer in the air fryer basket. Make sure not to overcrowd.
  3. Spray the Chicken: Lightly spray the coated chicken pieces with olive oil spray to help achieve a golden crust.
  4. Cook: Air fry at 375°F (190°C) for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  5. Check for Doneness: Use a meat thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
