Candied Pecans

  • Author: Martha
  • Total Time: 25 min.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups pecan halves
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Pecans

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.
  2. Melt the Butter: In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, add the brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Stir until the sugar has dissolved and the mixture is smooth.
  3. Toss the Pecans: Add the pecans to the butter-sugar mixture, tossing them until they’re evenly coated.
  4. Bake the Pecans: Spread the pecans out in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 15-20 minutes, stirring halfway through, until the pecans are golden and crispy. Keep an eye on them to prevent burning!
  5. Cool and Serve: Allow the pecans to cool on the baking sheet. They will crisp up as they cool down. Once they’re fully cooled, enjoy the sweet crunch!
