Ingredients
Scale
For the Brownies:
- 1 box brownie mix (or 1 batch of your favorite homemade brownie recipe)
- 2 large eggs
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup water
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Topping:
- 6–8 candy canes, crushed (for topping)
- 1/2 cup white chocolate chips (optional, for drizzling)
Instructions
Prepare the Brownies
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease or line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper.
- Mix the Batter: In a large mixing bowl, combine the brownie mix, eggs, vegetable oil, water, and vanilla extract. Stir until well combined and smooth.
- Pour the Batter: Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it out evenly.
- Bake the Brownies: Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with just a few moist crumbs (not wet batter).
- Cool: Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Prepare the Topping
- Crush the Candy Canes: While the brownies are cooling, place the candy canes in a sealed plastic bag and gently crush them with a rolling pin until they’re broken into small pieces. You can also use a food processor if you prefer finer crumbs.
- Melt the White Chocolate: If using, melt the white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth and fully melted.
Assemble the Brownies
- Top with Candy Canes: Once the brownies have cooled completely, sprinkle the crushed candy cane pieces generously over the top of the brownies.
- Drizzle with White Chocolate: If using, drizzle the melted white chocolate over the top of the brownies in a zigzag pattern.
