Ingredients
Scale
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup crumbled blue cheese (optional, but adds great flavor)
- 2 tablespoons sour cream
- 2 tablespoons finely chopped green onions
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/2 cup finely chopped nuts (pecans, walnuts, or almonds)
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
- 1/4 cup crispy bacon bits (optional)
Instructions
Make the Cheese Ball Mixture
- Combine Cream Cheese and Cheddar: In a medium-sized bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, crumbled blue cheese (if using), and sour cream. Use a hand mixer or a wooden spoon to mix everything until smooth and well-combined.
- Season the Mixture: Add the Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until everything is evenly incorporated. If you’re using green onions or any other flavor mix-ins like fresh herbs, now’s the time to stir them in!
Shape into Bites
- Form the Bites: Scoop out about 1 tablespoon of the cheese mixture and roll it into a ball using your hands. Continue until all of the mixture has been rolled into bite-sized balls.
- Chill: Place the cheese ball bites on a baking sheet or plate lined with parchment paper. Refrigerate for at least 10 minutes to help them firm up.
Coat the Bites
- Roll in Coatings: Once chilled, it’s time to coat the bites. Place chopped nuts, fresh parsley, or bacon bits on a plate. Roll each cheese ball bite into the toppings of your choice, making sure they’re evenly coated. The crunch of the nuts or bacon bits will add a delightful contrast to the creamy interior.
