- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- Juice of 1 lemon
- Zest of 1 lemon
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Optional: Red pepper flakes for a kick
Instructions
Prepare the Broccoli
- Wash and Cut: Rinse the broccoli florets under cold water and cut them into bite-sized pieces.
- Steam the Broccoli: In a large pot, bring about an inch of water to a boil. Place the broccoli in a steamer basket and steam for about 5 minutes, or until tender but still crisp.
Sauté the Garlic
- Heat the Olive Oil: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
- Add Garlic: Once the oil is hot, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1-2 minutes until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
Combine and Season
- Add Broccoli: Once the broccoli is steamed, add it to the skillet with the garlic.
- Add Lemon: Squeeze the lemon juice over the broccoli and sprinkle the zest on top.
- Season: Add salt and pepper to taste. If you like a little heat, sprinkle in some red pepper flakes.
