London Fog Tea Latte

  • Author: Martha
  • Total Time: 10 min.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Latte:

  • 1 Earl Grey tea bag or 1 tablespoon loose leaf Earl Grey tea
  • 1 cup milk (whole milk, oat milk, or almond milk are great options)
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (or vanilla syrup for extra sweetness)
  • 12 teaspoons honey or sugar (optional, adjust to taste)

For Garnishing (Optional):

  • A sprinkle of ground cinnamon or nutmeg
  • A few lavender buds for decoration (if you like the classic “fog” look)

Instructions

1. Brew the Tea

  • Boil water in a kettle or on the stove. Once it reaches a rolling boil, pour over the Earl Grey tea bag or loose leaf tea in a mug.
  • Let it steep for 3-5 minutes, depending on how strong you prefer your tea. For a more robust flavor, let it steep a little longer.

2. Steam the Milk

  • While the tea is steeping, heat the milk in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally to prevent it from burning.
  • If you have a milk frother, use it to froth the milk until it’s nice and creamy. If you don’t have a frother, whisk vigorously until you get a frothy texture.

3. Combine the Ingredients

  • Remove the tea bag (or strain the loose leaf tea) and add the vanilla extract (or vanilla syrup) to the tea.
  • Pour the steamed milk over the brewed tea, holding back the foam with a spoon. Then, spoon the foam on top.

4. Sweeten to Taste

  • Add honey, sugar, or another sweetener to taste. Stir gently to combine.

5. Garnish and Serve

  • For an extra touch of elegance, sprinkle some ground cinnamon or nutmeg over the foam, or garnish with a few lavender buds.
  • Enjoy your cozy cup of London Fog Tea Latte immediately!
