Ingredients
Scale
For the Latte:
- 1 Earl Grey tea bag or 1 tablespoon loose leaf Earl Grey tea
- 1 cup milk (whole milk, oat milk, or almond milk are great options)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (or vanilla syrup for extra sweetness)
- 1–2 teaspoons honey or sugar (optional, adjust to taste)
For Garnishing (Optional):
- A sprinkle of ground cinnamon or nutmeg
- A few lavender buds for decoration (if you like the classic “fog” look)
Instructions
1. Brew the Tea
- Boil water in a kettle or on the stove. Once it reaches a rolling boil, pour over the Earl Grey tea bag or loose leaf tea in a mug.
- Let it steep for 3-5 minutes, depending on how strong you prefer your tea. For a more robust flavor, let it steep a little longer.
2. Steam the Milk
- While the tea is steeping, heat the milk in a saucepan over medium heat, stirring occasionally to prevent it from burning.
- If you have a milk frother, use it to froth the milk until it’s nice and creamy. If you don’t have a frother, whisk vigorously until you get a frothy texture.
3. Combine the Ingredients
- Remove the tea bag (or strain the loose leaf tea) and add the vanilla extract (or vanilla syrup) to the tea.
- Pour the steamed milk over the brewed tea, holding back the foam with a spoon. Then, spoon the foam on top.
4. Sweeten to Taste
- Add honey, sugar, or another sweetener to taste. Stir gently to combine.
5. Garnish and Serve
- For an extra touch of elegance, sprinkle some ground cinnamon or nutmeg over the foam, or garnish with a few lavender buds.
