- 2 tablespoons of butter (for grilling the sandwich)
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce or marinara sauce
- 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup pepperoni slices (or any other pizza toppings of choice like mushrooms, olives, bell peppers, or sausage)
Optional Toppings:
- Fresh basil (for a touch of freshness)

- Parmesan cheese (for extra flavor)
Instructions
Prepare the Sandwiches
- Butter the Bread: Spread a thin layer of butter on one side of each slice of bread. The butter will help achieve that golden, crispy crust.
- Assemble the Sandwich: On the non-buttered side of two slices of bread, spread a generous spoonful of pizza sauce. Sprinkle both mozzarella and cheddar cheese over the sauce, then layer on the pepperoni (or your choice of toppings). Top with the remaining slices of bread, buttered side up.
- Heat the Skillet: Preheat a skillet over medium heat. Once it’s hot, carefully place the sandwiches in the skillet. Press them down slightly to ensure even grilling.
- Grill the Sandwiches: Grill the sandwiches for 3-5 minutes on each side, flipping carefully once the first side is golden brown. The cheese should be melted, and the bread should be crispy and golden.
- Serve: Once both sides are golden brown and the cheese is melted, remove the sandwiches from the skillet and let them cool for a minute before slicing.
