Sugar Cookie Truffles

  • Author: Martha
  • Total Time: 30 min.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Cookie Base:

  • 1 box sugar cookie mix (or homemade sugar cookie dough)
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Coating:

  • 12 oz white chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional, for smoother coating)

For Decoration (Optional):

  • Sprinkles
  • Extra melted chocolate for drizzling

Instructions

Make the Cookie Base

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a large bowl, combine the sugar cookie mix, softened butter, cream cheese, and vanilla extract. Mix until the dough is smooth and combined.
  2. Roll Into Balls: Roll the dough into small 1-inch balls. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  3. Chill: Refrigerate the dough balls for at least 1 hour to firm up. This step helps the truffles keep their shape when dipped in chocolate.

Coat the Truffles

  1. Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white chocolate chips and coconut oil (if using) in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth and fully melted.
  2. Dip the Truffles: Dip each chilled cookie ball into the melted white chocolate, coating it evenly. You can use a fork or skewer to dip and remove the truffles from the chocolate.
  3. Set and Decorate: Place the dipped truffles back on the parchment paper and decorate them with sprinkles or a drizzle of extra melted chocolate while they’re still wet.
