Cadbury Egg Crack

  • Author: Martha
  • Total Time: 25 min.

Ingredients

Scale

Gather these simple ingredients to make your Cadbury Egg Crack:

  • 1 sleeve of saltine crackers (about 40 crackers)
  • 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups milk or dark chocolate chips
  • 68 mini Cadbury Creme Eggs, roughly chopped
  • 68 mini Cadbury Caramel Eggs, roughly chopped
  • 1/2 cup pastel M&M’s or mini chocolate eggs
  • 1/4 cup white chocolate chips (optional, for drizzle)

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Baking Sheet

  1. Preheat Oven – Set your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line the Pan – Cover a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper or aluminum foil, then lightly grease it to prevent sticking.
  3. Arrange the Crackers – Lay out the saltine crackers in a single layer, covering the entire pan.

Step 2: Make the Toffee

  1. Melt the Butter and Sugar – In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter and brown sugar, stirring continuously.
  2. Bring to a Boil – Once melted, bring to a boil and let it bubble for 3 minutes without stirring.
  3. Add Vanilla – Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. Pour Over Crackers – Immediately pour the hot toffee mixture over the crackers, spreading it evenly.

Step 3: Bake the Base

  1. Bake – Place the pan in the oven for 5 minutes. The toffee will bubble up—this is normal!
  2. Remove from Oven – Once the toffee looks set, remove the pan from the oven and let it cool slightly.

Step 4: Add the Chocolate Layer

  1. Melt the Chocolate – Sprinkle chocolate chips evenly over the hot toffee. Let sit for 2-3 minutes, then spread with a spatula until smooth.
  2. Sprinkle Toppings – While the chocolate is still warm, scatter the chopped Cadbury Eggs, M&M’s, and other toppings over the surface.
  3. Drizzle White Chocolate (Optional) – Melt white chocolate chips in the microwave in 15-second bursts, stirring in between. Drizzle over the top for a decorative finish.

Step 5: Cool and Crack

  1. Let It Set – Allow the Cadbury Egg Crack to cool at room temperature for about 30 minutes, then transfer to the fridge for another 30 minutes until fully set.
  2. Break into Pieces – Once firm, use your hands or a knife to break the candy into bite-sized pieces.
