Ingredients
Scale
For the Dough:
- 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
For the Filling:
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
For the Topping:
- 1 tablespoon butter, melted
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
Prepare the Filling
- Mix the Cream Cheese: In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese with the powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Stir until smooth and creamy.
- Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the semi-sweet chocolate chips in the microwave for about 30 seconds, stirring in between until fully melted and smooth.
- Combine the Chocolate and Cream Cheese: Gently fold the melted chocolate into the cream cheese mixture until well combined.
Prepare the Dough
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll Out the Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough onto a flat surface and separate the dough into individual triangles.
- Fill the Dough: Place a generous spoonful of the chocolate cream cheese mixture in the center of each triangle.
- Fold the Dough: Carefully fold the dough over the filling to form a ball. Pinch the edges to seal in the filling, ensuring that it doesn’t leak out while baking.
Bake the Bombs
- Brush with Butter: Place the dough balls on the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops of the bombs with melted butter to help them achieve that golden, crispy finish.
- Add Sugar and Cinnamon: In a small bowl, mix the granulated sugar and cinnamon (if using). Sprinkle this mixture generously over the tops of the bombs.
- Bake: Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the bombs are golden brown and puffed up.
Serve and Enjoy
- Cool: Let the bombs cool for a few minutes before serving. They’re delicious when slightly warm and still soft inside.
- Garnish (Optional): If desired, dust with a little extra powdered sugar for a beautiful finishing touch.
