  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chunks

For the Ganache Topping:

  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

Prepare the Brownies

  1. Preheat Your Oven: Set your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a 9×13-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving a bit of overhang for easy removal.
  2. Mix the Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk the melted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, beating until well combined.
  3. Add the Dry Ingredients: Sift in the cocoa powder, flour, and salt. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.
  4. Add the Chocolate Chunks: Stir in the chocolate chunks for pockets of melted chocolate in every bite.
  5. Bake: Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with a few moist crumbs. Avoid overbaking for the best fudgy texture.

Make the Ganache

  1. Heat the Cream: In a small saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until it just begins to simmer.
  2. Melt the Chocolate: Place the chocolate chips in a heatproof bowl. Pour the hot cream over the chocolate and let it sit for 1-2 minutes. Stir until smooth and glossy.
  3. Spread Over Brownies: Once the brownies have cooled slightly, pour the ganache over the top and spread evenly with a spatula.

Cool and Serve

Allow the ganache to set for about 10 minutes before slicing the brownies into squares. For clean cuts, wipe your knife with a warm, damp cloth between slices.
