Ingredients
Scale
For the Chicken:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (or thighs)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
For the Creamy Ranch Sauce:
- 1 packet ranch dressing seasoning mix (or homemade ranch seasoning)
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 cup heavy cream (or half and half for a lighter version)
- 1/2 cup chicken broth
Instructions
Cook the Chicken
- Season the Chicken: Season both sides of the chicken breasts with salt and pepper.
- Cook the Chicken: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook for 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through. Once done, remove the chicken from the skillet and set it aside.
Make the Ranch Sauce
- Combine the Sauce Ingredients: In the same skillet, add the ranch dressing seasoning, sour cream, heavy cream, and chicken broth. Stir until well combined and the sauce is smooth.
- Simmer the Sauce: Bring the sauce to a gentle simmer, then reduce the heat to low. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
Combine Chicken and Sauce
- Return the Chicken to the Skillet: Place the cooked chicken back into the skillet with the creamy ranch sauce.
- Coat the Chicken: Spoon the sauce over the chicken, making sure it’s well coated. Let the chicken simmer in the sauce for an additional 5 minutes, allowing it to soak up the creamy flavor.
Serve and Enjoy
- Serve: Once the chicken is fully coated and the sauce is thickened, serve your Creamy Ranch Chicken over rice, pasta, or alongside roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
