- ¼ cup sour cream or ranch dressing (for drizzling)
Instructions
Prepare the Fries
- Preheat the Oven: Set your oven to 425°F (220°C) or heat a deep fryer to 375°F (190°C).
- Slice the Potatoes: Cut the potatoes into thin fries or wedges. If using frozen fries, skip this step.
- Season the Fries: Toss the fries with olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
- Bake or Fry:
- Oven Method: Spread fries evenly on a baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes, flipping halfway.
- Fryer Method: Fry in batches for 3-4 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Drain on paper towels.
- Keep Warm: Place fries on a large ovenproof dish and set aside.
Add the Toppings
- Layer the Cheese: Sprinkle the shredded cheddar and mozzarella evenly over the fries.
- Add the Bacon & Meat: Crumble crispy bacon over the top and add cooked ground beef if using.
- Onions & Jalapeños: Scatter red onions and jalapeño slices for extra flavor.
Melt Everything Together
- Broil: Place the loaded fries under a broiler for 2-3 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Drizzle with Sauce: Finish with sour cream or ranch dressing for a creamy touch.
- Garnish: Sprinkle green onions on top for added freshness.
