Ingredients
Scale
For the Fruit Salad:
- 2 cups strawberries, hulled and sliced
- 2 cups cantaloupe, peeled and cut into chunks
- 2 cups pineapple, peeled and cut into chunks
- 1 cup blueberries (for a pop of color)
- 1 orange (for the zest and juice)
- Fresh mint leaves (optional, for garnish)
For the Dressing:
- 2 tbsp honey (optional, for extra sweetness)
- 1 tbsp lime juice (for added brightness)
- 1 tbsp orange juice (for citrusy flavor)
Instructions
Prepare the Fruits
- Wash and Prep: Start by thoroughly washing all the fruits. Hull the strawberries, peel and cube the cantaloupe and pineapple, and remove any seeds or skin from the fruits.
- Cut into Heart Shapes: Use a small heart-shaped cookie cutter to cut the strawberries, cantaloupe, and pineapple into heart shapes. Don’t worry if some of the fruits don’t come out perfectly heart-shaped—imperfect shapes still look beautiful, and the irregular pieces are perfect for snacking!
- Mix the Fruits: Place the heart-shaped pieces of fruit, along with the whole blueberries, in a large mixing bowl. Gently toss the fruits together to mix them evenly.
Prepare the Dressing
- Juice the Citrus: Squeeze the juice from the orange and lime into a small bowl. Zest a little bit of the orange peel into the same bowl to add some extra citrus flavor.
- Add Honey: Drizzle in honey (if using) and stir to combine. Taste the dressing and adjust sweetness by adding more honey if desired.
Toss the Salad
- Dress the Salad: Pour the citrus dressing over the fruit mixture. Toss gently to coat all the fruit evenly with the light and refreshing dressing.
- Garnish and Serve: If desired, garnish with a few fresh mint leaves for a touch of greenery and a refreshing taste. Serve immediately, or refrigerate until ready to serve.
- Prep Time: 15 min.
