Honey Garlic Kielbasa

  • Author: Martha
  • Total Time: 30 min.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Dish:

  • 1 lb kielbasa (sliced into 1/2-inch pieces)
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon Dijon mustard (optional, for a little tang)
  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar (optional, for added depth)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Ingredients

  1. Slice the Kielbasa: Cut the kielbasa into 1/2-inch slices. You can either use regular kielbasa or opt for a smoked version, depending on your preference.
  2. Minced Garlic: Mince the garlic cloves finely to ensure they cook evenly and release their full flavor.

Cook the Kielbasa

  1. Heat the Pan: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the sliced kielbasa. Cook the kielbasa for 5-7 minutes, turning occasionally, until it’s browned and crispy on the edges.
  2. Add Garlic: Add the minced garlic to the pan with the kielbasa. Cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring frequently to prevent the garlic from burning. The garlic should become fragrant and golden.

Make the Sauce

  1. Combine the Sauce Ingredients: In a small bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, Dijon mustard (if using), and apple cider vinegar (if using). Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  2. Pour the Sauce Over the Kielbasa: Once the garlic is fragrant, pour the sauce over the kielbasa and garlic in the pan. Stir well to coat the kielbasa evenly in the sauce.
  3. Simmer: Allow the mixture to simmer for 3-5 minutes, or until the sauce thickens slightly and becomes glossy. Stir occasionally to ensure the kielbasa is evenly coated.

Serve and Garnish

  1. Garnish: Once the sauce has thickened and the kielbasa is fully coated, remove the pan from heat. Garnish with freshly chopped parsley for a pop of color and freshness.
  2. Serve: Serve the Honey Garlic Kielbasa over rice, mashed potatoes, or with crusty bread for a complete meal. You can also serve it on its own as a tasty appetizer.
