  • 1 cup milk (whole, skim, or your favorite plant-based milk like almond, oat, or soy)
  • 1 tablespoon honey (more for sweetness, if preferred)
  • 1/2 teaspoon fresh ginger (grated, or you can use ground ginger)
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon (optional, but it adds a nice depth)
  • Pinch of salt (to enhance the flavors)

Instructions

Step 1: Heat the Milk

Pour the milk into a small saucepan and place it over medium heat. Stir it occasionally to ensure it doesn’t scorch. Heat until the milk is steaming, but not boiling.

Step 2: Add the Ginger and Cinnamon

Once the milk is warm, add the grated fresh ginger (or ground ginger) and cinnamon. Stir to combine. Let the ginger infuse in the milk for 1-2 minutes, allowing its flavors to meld with the milk.

Step 3: Sweeten with Honey

After the ginger has had time to infuse, remove the milk from the heat. Stir in the honey until it’s fully dissolved. You can add more honey if you like your drink sweeter.

Step 4: Taste and Adjust

Taste the warm milk, and adjust as needed. If you prefer a stronger ginger flavor, you can add a little more ginger or cinnamon. Add more honey if you want it sweeter.

Step 5: Serve and Enjoy

Pour the warm milk into a mug, and enjoy the comforting warmth. Sip slowly and let the soothing properties of the ginger and honey work their magic!
