Ingredients
- 1 Earl Grey tea bag (or 1 tablespoon loose-leaf Earl Grey tea)
- 3/4 cup milk (whole, almond, oat, or any preferred milk)
- 1 tablespoon vanilla syrup (or to taste)
- 1 teaspoon honey or sugar (optional, depending on sweetness preference)
- Hot water for steeping the tea
- Optional garnish: lavender sprigs or extra vanilla syrup
Instructions
Step 1: Steep the Earl Grey Tea
Start by boiling a small amount of water. Once it’s ready, pour it over the Earl Grey tea bag (or loose-leaf tea in an infuser) in a mug. Let it steep for about 3-5 minutes, depending on how strong you like your tea. The longer it steeps, the stronger the flavor.
Step 2: Steam the Milk
While your tea is steeping, heat the milk in a small saucepan over medium heat. Once it’s warmed, you can use a milk frother to froth the milk if you have one. If not, just heat the milk until it’s steaming, but be careful not to let it boil. A frothy milk texture will give your drink a richer feel, but a smooth, warm milk is just as cozy.
Step 3: Add Sweeteners and Vanilla Syrup
Once the tea has steeped, remove the tea bag and stir in the vanilla syrup. Taste it and add honey or sugar if you prefer more sweetness.
Step 4: Combine and Froth
Pour the steamed milk into the tea, holding back the foam with a spoon. Then, top your drink with the frothed milk and foam. For an extra touch, drizzle a little more vanilla syrup on top or add a sprig of lavender as garnish.
Step 5: Sip and Enjoy
Stir gently, and your London Fog is ready to be enjoyed! It’s the perfect combination of fragrant tea, creamy milk, and just the right amount of sweetness. Take a moment to enjoy the cozy vibes!
