Ingredients
Scale
For the Brownies:
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter
- 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
- 3/4 cup packed brown sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 4 ounces dark chocolate, melted and cooled
Instructions
Prepare the Batter
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line an 8×8-inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal.
- Melt Butter: In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat. Remove from heat and whisk in the granulated sugar and brown sugar until smooth.
- Add Eggs and Vanilla: Let the mixture cool slightly, then whisk in the eggs, one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract.
- Combine Dry Ingredients: In a separate bowl, sift together the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
- Mix Wet and Dry: Gradually fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Add Chocolate: Stir in the melted dark chocolate and chocolate chips, ensuring they’re evenly distributed.
Bake the Brownies
- Pour Batter: Pour the brownie batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly with a spatula.
- Bake: Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs (not wet batter).
- Cool: Allow the brownies to cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before lifting them out using the parchment overhang. Let them cool completely on a wire rack.
Slice and Serve
- Slice: Use a sharp knife to cut the brownies into 16 squares. For clean edges, wipe the knife clean between cuts.
- Serve: Enjoy warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a drizzle of chocolate sauce.
