For the Chips:

  • 2 large sweet potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon bagel seasoning (store-bought or homemade)
  • Salt to taste

For Homemade Bagel Seasoning (Optional):

  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
  • 1 tablespoon dried minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon dried minced onion
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon caraway seeds (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Sweet Potatoes

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. Slice the Sweet Potatoes: Using a mandoline slicer or a sharp knife, slice the sweet potatoes into very thin rounds, about 1/8-inch thick. Try to keep the slices even for uniform cooking.
  3. Toss with Olive Oil: Place the sliced sweet potatoes in a large mixing bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and toss until each slice is evenly coated.

Season the Chips

  1. Add Bagel Seasoning: Sprinkle the bagel seasoning over the sweet potato slices, ensuring they are well coated. Add salt to taste.
  2. Arrange on Baking Sheet: Lay the seasoned sweet potato slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Be sure they don’t overlap to ensure they cook evenly and crisp up.

Bake the Chips

  1. Bake in the Oven: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 20-30 minutes, flipping the chips halfway through. Keep an eye on them after the 20-minute mark, as they can burn quickly once they start to crisp.
  2. Check for Crispness: The chips are ready when they are golden brown and crispy. Remove from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet.

Serve the Chips
