Ingredients
Scale
For the Chips:
- 2 large sweet potatoes
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 tablespoon bagel seasoning (store-bought or homemade)
- Salt to taste
For Homemade Bagel Seasoning (Optional):
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
- 1 tablespoon dried minced garlic
- 1 tablespoon dried minced onion
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon caraway seeds (optional)
Instructions
Prepare the Sweet Potatoes
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
- Slice the Sweet Potatoes: Using a mandoline slicer or a sharp knife, slice the sweet potatoes into very thin rounds, about 1/8-inch thick. Try to keep the slices even for uniform cooking.
- Toss with Olive Oil: Place the sliced sweet potatoes in a large mixing bowl. Drizzle with olive oil and toss until each slice is evenly coated.
Season the Chips
- Add Bagel Seasoning: Sprinkle the bagel seasoning over the sweet potato slices, ensuring they are well coated. Add salt to taste.
- Arrange on Baking Sheet: Lay the seasoned sweet potato slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Be sure they don’t overlap to ensure they cook evenly and crisp up.
Bake the Chips
- Bake in the Oven: Place the baking sheet in the preheated oven and bake for 20-30 minutes, flipping the chips halfway through. Keep an eye on them after the 20-minute mark, as they can burn quickly once they start to crisp.
- Check for Crispness: The chips are ready when they are golden brown and crispy. Remove from the oven and let them cool on the baking sheet.
Serve the Chips
- Serve & Enjoy: Serve the Bagel Sweet Potato Chips on their own or with your favorite dip, like guacamole, hummus, or a creamy yogurt dip. You can also sprinkle some extra bagel seasoning on top if you’d like a stronger flavor.
