Ingredients
For the Sliders:
- 12 slider buns (soft, sweet Hawaiian rolls work great!)
- 1 lb deli ham (thinly sliced)
- 12 slices Swiss cheese (or your favorite cheese)
For the Sauce:
- ¼ cup unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 tbsp Dijon mustard (optional, for a little tang)
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tbsp brown sugar (for a hint of sweetness)
- ¼ tsp poppy seeds (optional, for extra flavor and a little crunch)
Instructions
1. Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). This way, it’s nice and hot when you’re ready to bake the sliders.
2. Prepare the Slider Buns
Slice the entire pack of slider buns in half horizontally. Keep the buns connected as one whole piece (this makes assembling easier). Place the bottom half of the buns in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
3. Layer the Ham and Cheese
Layer the deli ham evenly on the bottom half of the buns. Then, place a slice of Swiss cheese (or your cheese of choice) on top of the ham. Once all 12 slices are in place, add the top buns back on.
4. Make the Sauce
In a small bowl, whisk together the melted butter, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, brown sugar, and poppy seeds (if using). This sauce is what gives these sliders their irresistible flavor!
5. Pour the Sauce Over the Sliders
Evenly pour the butter sauce over the top of the buns, making sure each one gets a nice coating. Use a brush or spoon to spread the sauce if needed.
6. Bake the Sliders
Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake for 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, remove the foil and bake for an additional 5 minutes, or until the tops of the buns are golden brown and the cheese is melted.
7. Serve and Enjoy!
Once they’re out of the oven, slice the sliders along the lines and serve them while they’re warm and gooey. They’re perfect on their own, but feel free to serve with some chips, a side salad, or a fresh pickle.
