- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (optional for added tang)
Instructions
Prepare the Casserole
- Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease a 9×13-inch casserole dish with cooking spray or butter.
- Slice the Hot Dogs: Cut the hot dogs into bite-sized rounds. You can use regular or turkey hot dogs, depending on your preference.
- Roll Out the Crescent Dough: Unroll the crescent dough and press it into the bottom of the casserole dish, ensuring it covers the entire bottom. Pinch any seams together to create a seamless crust.
- Layer the Hot Dogs: Arrange the sliced hot dogs evenly on top of the dough.
- Add the Cheese: Sprinkle 1.5 cups of shredded cheddar cheese over the hot dogs, making sure to distribute it evenly.
- Prepare the Milk Mixture: In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, garlic powder, onion powder, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Pour this mixture evenly over the casserole.
- Top with More Cheese: Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of cheese on top of the casserole.
- Bake: Place the casserole in the preheated oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the crescent dough is golden brown and the cheese is bubbling and melted.
- Cool and Serve: Let the casserole cool for a few minutes before cutting into squares and serving.
