Ingredients
Scale
For the Skillet:
- 1 can (16.3 oz) refrigerated biscuit dough (8 biscuits)
- 1 cup pizza sauce
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup sliced pepperoni (or more, if you like it extra meaty!)
- 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (optional)
- Fresh basil for garnish (optional)
Instructions
Prepare the Skillet
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Prep the Biscuit Dough: Open the can of biscuit dough and separate the biscuits. Cut each biscuit into quarters, and set them aside.
- Heat the Skillet: Heat an oven-safe skillet (cast-iron works great) over medium heat. Lightly grease it with cooking spray or a little olive oil.
- Arrange the Biscuits: Place the quartered biscuits in the skillet in a single layer, covering the bottom. The biscuits will spread as they bake, so they don’t need to be perfect!
- Add the Pizza Sauce: Spoon pizza sauce evenly over the biscuits. Spread it out gently with the back of the spoon.
Add the Toppings
- Sprinkle the Cheese: Sprinkle mozzarella cheese over the sauce-covered biscuits. You can be generous with the cheese – more cheese means more delicious gooeyness!
- Top with Pepperoni: Arrange pepperoni slices evenly over the cheese. Don’t be afraid to pile it on for a meaty, satisfying bite.
- Season the Pizza: Sprinkle dried oregano, garlic powder, and crushed red pepper flakes (if using) over the top for added flavor.
Bake the Skillet
- Bake: Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the biscuits are golden brown and the cheese is bubbly and melted.
- Check for Doneness: The biscuits should be fully cooked, and the cheese should be a nice golden color with crispy edges.
- Garnish and Serve: Remove the skillet from the oven and garnish with fresh basil if desired. Let it cool for a minute, then slice and serve!
- Prep Time: 10 min.
- Cook Time: 25 min.
